Arenal Lodge

The Arenal Lodge is located high on a hillside above Lake Arenal.

The direct view of Arenal Volcano and the surrounding National Park from the hotel is amazing. The Lodge is located on a two thousand acre prop-erty in some of the most amazing rain forest terrain on earth. This lush setting is home to the many bird and animal species that are part of the Arenal Volcano National Park. The lodge overlooks Lake Arenal, a fish-erman’s dream destination, and has a wonderful view of the active Arenal Volcano which features breathtaking eruptions and lava flows that can be seen glowing in the night.

Arenal Lodge is located just three and a half hours from San Jose and sits less than a mile from the shores of Lake Arenal. Windsurfers and fishermen travel from all over the world to ex-perience this amazing manmade lake with its abundant fish source and steady, year round wind. The lodge is surrounded by beautiful orchid gardens and well maintained trails and there is a solarium so that the beautiful outdoors scenery can be enjoyed even when nature refuses to cooperate. Ideally situated on a macadamia plantation between two strips of virgin forest, the lodge has several trails that are great for bird-watching and recreational hiking.

The Arenal Lodge offers fifty well furnished rooms, two swimming pools- one conventional, one natural, a restaurant, Jacuzzis, a play room for children, and a steam bath. The Lodge also maintains inventory for the anglers that join them as guests.

Several fishing boats and all of the associated gear required are on site and can be arranged for at any time. Bikes are available for rent and there is a free shuttle to major nearby destinations several times a day.

There are a variety of different type rooms, with varying configurations available for all sorts of guests. There are several different types of suites, including a Matrimonial Suite with a private Jacuzzi from which you can sit and watch the volcano while you soak! There are also a series of five duplex chalets perched on the edge of the Arenal Lodge gardens on the ridgeline just above the main lodge. These cozy rooms complete with a balcony all are equipped with kit-chenettes and cable television and provide just a little more privacy than at the main lodge.

Meals are served in the Lodge’s dining room which has a huge glass wall with an amazing view of the volcano. There is also a library with a mammoth stone fireplace and a separate lounge with a television and VCR. A bar is also on the property for a late night drink after exploring the wil-derness. There is also a small gift shop on the property full of delightful souvenirs of your visit to Arenal.
